Espadeiro is a Vinho Verde indigenous grape, that originated in Basto, & means ‘swordsman’ in Portuguese, due to the fact the bunches grow in long, thin columns like a sword!
The grapes of this wine come from 'Plainas', a farm that was given as a heirloom gift to the wine producer in 1962 by his father, winemaker Joaquim Pereia e Cunha.
The family's passion for their vineyards and wine stems from this history and long tradition in winemaking. From the Espadeiro grape, this wine develops its pink color and aroma from red fruits.
It's a well balanced, fresh wine with a pleasant and lingering after taste. Recommended as an aperitif or to accompany fish dishes, seafood, & meat.
